Why Grandview?

Please note, Grandview High School will close after the 2026-27 school year due to a changing educational landscape in which alternative options for high school completion have expanded in Milwaukee. Although Grandview will cease operations at the end of this school year, our staff and administrators are committed to carrying out our educational mission with the same integrity as always, ensuring a meaningful and supportive experience for every student who attends. Grandview is still enrolling students for the 2026-27 school year.

Grandview High School was established in 1987 as an alternative high school under the children-at-risk statute, through a partnership agreement with Milwaukee Public Schools. Its mission is to help young adults become academically, emotionally, and socially prepared for productive participation in the 21st century. 

Grandview serves students “at risk” of not completing high school or who are experiencing difficulty in a traditional high school setting. As a credit recovery school, our goal is to help students graduate with their MPS diploma so that they can either enter the workforce immediately or go on to pursue post-secondary education.

Our curriculum is taught by highly qualified teachers who deliver student-specific instruction in a small, safe, supportive, and respectful environment. At our school, learning is the focus, success is the result. 

Even as a credit recovery school serving “at risk” students, we make it a priority to ensure that our students still get to enjoy a traditional high school experience; we offer clubs and extracurriculars, dances, field trips, and club athletics, all of which contribute to our strong school culture and pride.
