A Message from the Principal

Since opening our doors in 1987, Grandview has continued to provide an education that offers "at-risk" students new opportunities as they enter the adult world. Our students graduate with an MPS diploma, leaving us ready to enter the workforce immediately or go on to pursue postsecondary education.

 

For the 2026-27 school year, as Grandview enters its final year of operation, we will continue to uphold the values that have guided our mission since the school's inception. Our students have been and always will be our number one priority, and we're committed to maintaining a school structure and environment in which access to individualized support and guidance – both in the classroom and outside of it – is always present.

 

As a credit recovery school, Grandview welcomes students that have come to us behind in credits for a variety of reasons. Our flexible scheduling and programming allows our students to catch up in both skills and credits. We offer a balanced blend of both traditional and online classes, adjusting schedules and services in response to student needs. Our dedicated teachers and staff work to deliver quality instruction and serve as mentors to each and every student who comes into the building, assisting them with both academic as well as social and emotional needs.

 

At Grandview, we're proud of our strong student culture and school environment. While we serve as a credit-recovery program, we're dedicated to giving our students access to a traditional high school experience. We offer a range of extracurricular activities, host school dances, and promote a student culture that feels like family. Our facilities are modern and inviting; we're home to a safe and calm environment, where every student can feel supported and access the tools they need to succeed.

 

We know how important community is to shaping student success. Our students' families are included in their education through emails, teacher webpages, calls, conferences, and letters. Small by design, big in impact—we instill that sense of family into everything we do, creating a legacy of connection and community that will last far after Grandview closes its doors.
